On June 18, 2018, Owner and team President David Arsenault, relocated and rebranded the Orangeville Flyers as the Brampton Admirals Jr A Hockey Club. The Brampton Admirals and his Junior B team, the Brampton Bombers, play home games at the Brampton Memorial Arena. Prior, David was the Owner and President of the Orangeville Flyers from 2011 to 2018 after purchasing the old Thornhill Thunderbirds franchise in 2007 and operating the Villanova Knights for 4 years, of which the last 2 were very successful, reaching the final 8 its last season.
In April 2011 the OJHL Board of Directors approved the Knights relocation request to move to Orangeville.
In the fall of 2009, Mr Arsenault took over the defunct Owen Sound Greys Jr B hockey team, and joined the Greater Ontario Junior B Hockey League in September of 2010.
The purpose was to create a vertical affiliation to move players from Junior B to Junior A. (In 2011, he moved the Owen Sound team to Brampton as the Brampton Bombers and they currently play in the same league out of the Brampton Memorial Arena). The entire affiliation was completed in May 2010, when Mr Arsenault purchased the Fergus Devils Jr C team, playing out of the Georgian Bay Mid Ontario Hockey League Together the vertical affiliation was complete, and it allowed for complete movement through the system from Junior C to Junior A. There was no system set up like this in Ontario, which allowed our organization to monitor the movement of our players through all 3 junior levels.
David played minor hockey until Midget when an injury ended his further playing aspirations. Knowing that he couldn’t move forward as a player, he focused on school and has both a Bachelor Degree in Architecture from Ryerson and a Masters degree in Architecture from the University of Michigan. Mr. Arsenault owns a successful Architectural Company (Arsenault Architect Inc.) located in Etobicoke.
David also owns numerous other companies but his passion is for the game of hockey. Owning a team in the league has been a dream for many years and now with the acquisition of the Caledon Golden Hawks Junior C franchise and the incorporation of AHG Hockey Academy he is well on his way to building the best franchise group possible. This not only includes the on-ice product, but also all facets relating to the hockey operations, business, marketing and development.
